Katherine O'Donovan, professor of family law and legal theory, University of Kent, to the chair of law.

James Lahore, University of Melbourne to the Herchel Smith chair of intellectual property law.

The following have been promoted to professorships: Genevra Richardson (reader of public law); John Yelland (senior lecturer in law); C. M. Reed (senior lecturer in information technology law).
