Chairs

UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON. A. Marshall Stoneham, chief scientist at AEA Technology Harwell, has been appointed to the new Massey chair of physics. The following titles have been conferred: B. Nutt, former visiting senior lecturer, professor of facility and environmental management; H. Rang, visiting professor is now professor of pharmacology; J. H. Parkinson, senior lecturer, professor of space science.

UNIVERSITY OF WALES COLLEGE OF CARDIFF

Bruce Caterson, formerly of the University of North Carolina, has been appointed to the chair in biochemistry. Carole Rakodi, former senior lecturer, has been appointed to the chair in international urban development planning.
