More than 900 proposals have been lodged with the European Commission for its information technology programme.
According to the European Commission Directorate General, 92 proposals were made for multimedia systems under the present Esprit banner.
Of those, 131 were in long-term research, 161 in software technologies, 181 for technology for components and subsystems, 52 for the open microprocessor systems initiative, 111 for high performance computing and networking (HPCN), 88 for technologies for business processes and 93 for integration in manufacturing.
