Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council

The following were awarded senior fellowships by the council: Michael Ashfold, professor in the school of chemistry at the University of Bristol; John Pendry, professor at the Blackett Laboratory of Imperial College, London; John Toland, professor in the school of mathematical sciences at the University of Bath.

Associatiao de Professores de Geografia

Patrick Bailey, visiting fellow in the education department at Loughborough University, was elected to an honorary fellowship of the associatiao.

American Academy of Management

Cary Cooper, professor in the Manchester school of management at UMIST, has been elected to a fellowship of the academy, the honour will be awarded in August in Boston.
