Royal Swedish Academy of Forestry and Agriculture Paul Jarvis, professor of forestry and natural resources at the University of Edinburgh has been elected to a fellowship.

National Humanities Center, North Carolina John Rohl, professor at the University of Sussex has been appointed to a fellowship.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow John Arbuthnott, principal and vice chancellor of Strathclyde University; Ismail Sallam, minister of health and population for the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Institution of Agricultural Engineers Brian Witney, honorary professor at the University of Edinburgh, has been awarded an honorary fellowship.
