Knight-Ridder Information Services has introduced an easy-to-use Windows interface for its Datastar service, but not yet for its other major online information service, Dialog. Datastar gives access to over 350 databases in the areas of biomedicine and pharmaceuticals, business, trademarks, chemistry and technology.
For existing subscribers, the Probase software costs Pounds 100 for a site licence. New subscribers pay Pounds 750 per user and get about Pounds 1,300-worth of free usage.
