Your readers must be thoroughly confused about which university in Northern Ireland received which top ratings in the RAE. Your story (THES, January 3) stated - incorrectly - that Queen's received top ratings for research on "cancer, ageing and diet". You carried a correction (January 10) in which you state rightly that it was the University of Ulster which received these ratings.
However, you did not mention (in either story) Queen's University's grade 5 ratings. For the record, they were achieved in mechanical, aeronautical and manufacturing engineering; agriculture; physics; electrical and electronic engineering; Irish studies; archaeology; and music. Irish politics was also of very high quality.
