(Photograph) - Poles apart: Henryk Urich, former professor of neuropathology at London University, comes face to face with his sculpture at the 55th and final reunion of graduates of the Polish School of Medicine at Edinburgh University. The school was founded in 1941 for soldier-students in the Polish forces in Britain. Although an integral part of the university, it was an independent Polish academic institution, teaching in Polish and conferring Polish diplomas. Professor Urich was one of more than 330 students taught by Polish academics up to 1949.
