Forget pay, bullying and casualisation. One of the hottest topics at the inaugural conference of the University and College Union looks set to be a debate about where the union's headquarters should be located. One motion, from the Manchester branch, notes the "considerable cost-saving" to be made from a move out of London, and suggests relocating - to Manchester. Perhaps beer and sandwiches, instead of wine and panini in Bloomsbury, is on the cards for union officials.
