An advice clinic established by 18 of the capital's universities and colleges aims to raise the aspirations of young Londoners with a view to getting them into the health professions. Students can learn about opportunities in areas such as medicine, dentistry, nursing and other hospital-based roles. But the Diary worries that the partnership could be widening participation slightly too far - it is run by the Royal Veterinary College.
