The student accommodation provider, University Partnerships Programme, has agreed to a national code that it says will improve living conditions. Under the code, students can expect to receive clear and accurate information before choosing accommodation and the property to be well-managed and meet all appropriate health and safety standards. It was launched by the Accreditation Network UK and is supported by the National Union of Students.
