A student nurse's allegation that Anglia Ruskin University helped the Royal College of Nursing to discriminate against her has been thrown out by the Employment Appeal Tribunal. The nurse, Mrs Shestak, went on several hospital placements as part of her nursing degree at Anglia Ruskin. One hospital terminated her placement after a disagreement and she was subsequently refused further work. Mrs Shestak then filed race discrimination claims against 16 respondents, including the university. The claim against the university was struck out by the employment tribunal. Mrs Shestak appealed but the Employment Appeal Tribunal found against her.
