The Association of Colleges has elected a new board to break from the regime associated with former chief executive Roger Ward. In February, the board stood down after a vote of no confidence over its handling of Mr Ward's departure. Ten of the 18 former board members remain, including chairman Jim Scrimshaw. Michael Blagden, principal of Southgate College, was not re-elected, although many of the former board did not stand for re-election. New members include Helen Gilchrist, principal of Bury College, and Andrew Middleton, Stamford College principal.
