THE University of Ulster is to pay Pounds 32,000 in damages to a woman it discriminated against, after the Court of Appeal rejected the university's attempt to get the compensation award reduced. At an industrial tribunal last year, the university was found to have discriminated against Jennifer Fryers, on the basis of her gender, when it failed to shortlist her for a position as director of human resources.
