A new "core skills" qualification for sixth-formers completing academic and vocational courses was this week launched by the Royal Society of Arts. The Diploma of Achievement, which is to be validated by the Oxford and Cambridge Schools Examination Board, will complement A levels and GNVQs and aims to meet National Foundation Target 4 by encouraging students to develop self-reliance, flexibility and breadth.
