The Association of University Teachers has elected Philip Burgess from Dundee University as its vice president and president-elect from September.
Penny Holloway from Ulster was elected vice president and Max Goldstrom from Belfast was elected unopposed as honorary treasurer.
English lecturer Kate Heasman has been elected vice president of Natfhe, ahead of five other candidates. Ms Heasman, who works at Arnold and Carlton College in Nottingham, will become president next year. She is chair of the union's equal opportunities committee and played a key role in framing Natfhe policy on ageism.
