George Bain, vice-chancellor of Queen's University, Belfast, has signed a declaration with staff unions stating that all employees have the right to work free from intimidation or harassment on the grounds of religious belief, political opinion, race, sex, sexual orientation or disability.
Professor Bain's predecessor, Sir Gordon Beveridge, signed a similar document against sectarian harassment with unions. Intimidation or harassment will be seen as gross misconduct.
