A lecture charting the colourful history of Bangor University is to tell the story of its growth from a small college teaching 58 students in the Penrhyn Arms inn to an independent university with 13,000 students and staff. The lecture is to be delivered on 12 March by David Roberts, registrar of the institution and author of the recently published book, Bangor University 1882-2009. He said: "The university has had its share of highs and lows, successes and crises. This is a university that gains strength from its history and roots."
