A poet working at Bangor University is one of ten writers to have been long-listed for the English section of the Wales Book of the Year 2009 award. Zoe Skoulding has been included on the list for her poetry collection Remains of a Future City, which takes an imagined city as its central theme but also refers to real cities. Dr Skoulding describes an urban landscape of demolition and reconstruction that she sees as reflecting recent changes in Bangor, where most of the poems were written.
