Beckett boost for sustainable technology

Margaret Beckett, president of the Board of Trade, has announced awards totalling Pounds 10 million for development of technologies for sustainable development. The awards will be made as part of the Government's Foresight initiative, which aims to identify and support key technologies of the future. Ms Beckett said the Pounds 10 million will be matched by a further Pounds 10 million to Pounds 20 million from industry. A call for bids for the money will be issued in September.
