Bolton Institute of Higher Education's hopes of attaining university status have been boosted by a satisfactory teaching quality rating for its mechanical engineers after a revisit from Higher Education Funding Council for England assessors. Bolton management believes that an unsatisfactory rating two years ago played a role in stalling a previous application.
