One student obviously caught the mood last week when Northern Ireland's higher education minister, Sean Farren, opened the province's Centre for Entrepreneurship, a joint venture by the University of Ulster and Queen's University, Belfast. As the minister spoke of promoting innovation, posters on the main noticeboards offered cartons of Marlboro Lights at £32 each, complete with an enterprising student's mobile phone number.
