Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College has been given Privy Council approval to change its name to Buckinghamshire New University.
Ruth Farwell, formerly BCUC's chief executive and now the vice-chancellor of the new university, said: "The award of university title recognises the level and quality of work that is undertaken at the university and the efforts of its staff. We are delighted that our proposed name has been approved."
