Further education colleges are asking the Chancellor to invest Pounds 40 million a year in new and refurbished buildings to cope with growing student numbers. The Association for Colleges' public expenditure survey submission to the Treasury also proposes the expansion in student numbers should continue by at least 3 per cent a year from 1998 to 2000.
