The Educational Institute of Scotland is asking every college and new university to carry out a full health and safety inspection during January to investigate the impact of cuts in building and maintenance budgets. The EIS general secretary, Ronnie Smith, said: "The purpose of this exercise is to attempt to quantify the legacy of this neglect."
