Sir Keith Peters will be the next president of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Sir Keith is regius professor of physic at the University of Cambridge and head of the School of Clinical Medicine.
He was made a fellow of the Royal Society in 1995 in recognition of his research on the immunology of renal and vascular disease.
He succeeds Sir Peter Lachmann, who became president on the academy's formation in 1998.
