Campaign of grief

September 27, 1996

(Photograph) - Campaign of grief: Stirling academic Michael North's daughter Sophie died from bullets fired from Thomas Hamilton's legally owned pistol in Dunblane primary school gym. On page 15 Dr North explains why the Government must finally stand up to the powerful gun lobby and enforce drastic gun controls. This week the Liberal Democrat conference voted by 366 to 357 votes against banning handguns. Such a ban is a key objective of the Dunblane parents' Snowdrop campaign.
