Plymouth University has an unusual claim to fame - it is the only university in the country to accommodate an air cadet squadron's headquarters on one of its campuses.
Since its formation more than 50 years ago, 2309 Squadron of the Air Training Corps has held its meetings on various sites that are now part of the university's main campus. Next week sees the official opening of its latest premises on Cobourg Street.
