TV chef Clarissa Dickson Wright, the student-elected rector of Aberdeen University, has an unconventional solution to student debt. The star of Two Fat Ladies - who is filing for bankruptcy - is quoted in The Mirror as saying: "The stigma attached to going bankrupt is all a great con. I am always telling my students to go bankrupt to get rid of their debt." An Aberdeen spokesperson said: "Ms Wright's comments and advice to students on bankruptcy are her own personal views and not those of the university."
