Wales' universities are ready to play a key role in the economic recovery if businesses are prepared to come forward and take advantage of their knowledge and research expertise. That was the message from Phil Bowen, director of innovation and engagement at Cardiff University's School of Engineering, who last week asked the Welsh Assembly to urge businesses to seek the support of the Principality's universities. "Wales' economic recovery is fragile and businesses need all the help they can get. There is a whole host of research expertise available," he said.
