Heriot-Watt University's caterers have won an award under the Scottish healthy choices scheme, run by the Health Education Board for Scotland and the Scottish Consumer Council.
Lothian Health Board praised the caterers for promoting healthy eating options.
Catering manager Mary Rudd said: "We're keen to offer and promote healthy eating choices to our customers, but that is what they are, choices. If students want to eat pie, beans and chips, we're not going to stop them."
