Dick Ashford has been appointed to a personal chair in recognition of his ongoing research into diseases such as leishmaniasis, passed on by the bite of an infected female sandfly.

Aston University

Tony Bridgwater, head of the energy research group in the chemical engineering and applied chemistry department, becomes a professor.

College of Radiographers

Adrian Moore, deputy head of the school of applied sciences at Anglia Polytechnic University, has been given the title professor of health sciences, in view of his substantial achievements in radiography and health science developments.
