Two Oxford colleges have confirmed that they will merge to create a new graduate college, as part of the university's strategy to improve provision for postgraduate students. The merger is the first in the modern history of the university. Green College and Templeton College have agreed to create a combined college from October 2008. Green Templeton College will be one of the largest graduate colleges in Oxford with about 80 fellows and 480 students.
