Second in our short series of implausible claims by election candidates is the boast of Edward Davey, Liberal Democrat hopeful for Kingston and Surbiton, who claims that while a student at Jesus, Oxford he was "elected college president". This may surprise Oxford vice chancellor Peter North, who thinks he was running the place at the time. Davey may however have been president of the junior common room.
