Brussels, 24 June 2002
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is offering a revamped information service for national and European-funded research in the 15 EU Member States.
Developed jointly by CORDIS and national ministries or leading research bodies, individual Member State services introduce national systems and political priorities and provide information on activities, infrastructures and key stakeholders. Each service also provides key figures on national participation in EU research programmes.
Progressively launched since 1996, the national services have all been recently redesigned and four countries have intermediate sites: Luxembourg, Portugal, Sweden and Denmark. As of July 2002, the latter will be replaced by a dedicated service supporting information on the research activities of Danish presidency.
The global service offers quick access to searchable news on each country, including events and interviews. Highlights are also provided for the current Presidency site and candidate countries. Links are provided to the Research Presidency site and to the regional gateway on CORDIS.
The service is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. However, all individual services are developed in both English and national language(s). The new service aims to raise awareness of and facilitate access to R&D information in each Member State as well as to support the creation of the European research area (ERA). //CPA For further information, please contact the following web address: http://www.cordis.lu/national_service
