Student juries will cost the taxpayer £20,000, it emerged this week. Five student juries, to be held between now and Christmas, have been budgeted at £20,000 plus expenses, Bill Rammell, the Higher Education Minister, said in a written answer. In October, John Denham, the Universities Secretary, announced a "student listening programme" that aims to put the voices of England's 2.3 million university students at the heart of Government.
