Entrepreneurship academics are to help create businesses and jobs in rural South Africa. Coventry University has joined forces with the University of Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa to promote rural entrepreneurship. Gideon Maas, co-director of the Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship at Coventry, said high rural unemployment is forcing mass migration to the cities, "causing serious disruption of the socio-economic wellbeing of people in both rural areas and cities".
