Controversial Oxford-based biologist Richard Dawkins is to give the 21st Richard Dimbleby lecture to be broadcast next Tuesday. He will argue that science has a cultural role that goes far beyond its obvious usefulness and claim that it can satisfy a historic human appetite for wonder.
