Creative skills workshops for those in "traditionally non-creative industries", such as engineering, are to be offered by De Montfort University. The workshops aim to inspire innovation and increase profit. They could involve everything from mechanical engineers making sound sculptures to electronic engineers building virtual instruments and performing a concert, the university said. The pilot project is being funded with £17,000 from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
