De Montfort University has announced that it is to withdraw from its Milton Keynes campus and is "considering the position" of its four Lincolnshire sites.
The move follows a governors' review last week of the university's longer-term strategy. The Milton Keynes site has failed to meet its recruitment targets over the past two years.
It comprises about 550 students on business, computing, social work, education and humanities programmes, along with 44 academics and 50 administrative staff.
