A new dental school is to open at the University of Central Lancashire next month. The £5.25 million school will be headed by Lawrence Mair. It will offer state-of-the-art technologies, including a "phantom head room", where students will carry out practical procedures on mannequin heads, and a prosthetics laboratory where they will learn to make dental appliances such as crowns and dentures.
