A $9 million (£4.9 million) teaching hospital is to be built over the next four years in Qatar's "Education City" - a cluster of educational and research facilities. The Qatar Foundation announced an $8 billion endowment for the centre, which will initially concentrate on world-class clinical care in women's health and paediatrics. It will serve as the primary teaching hospital of the Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, a branch of the New York City medical school.
