Traditionalists may deplore the decline in the number of classical scholars, but Dundee University is doing its best to attract a new generation. Its list of courses for adults in the coming year includes "Latin Literature for Pleasure". This requires no prior knowledge of the language, preferring to focus on other aspects: "the serious, the poetic, the frivolous and the downright rude", it promises. "This is a class for your enjoyment."
