The green credentials of one of the country's newest universities have received a boost. Edge Hill University's Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning has won the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' Award for Sustainability 2009. It scooped the award at a ceremony held at the City of Manchester Stadium, beating regional competitors including the Metro office complex at Salford Quays and the newly opened Postgraduate Statistics Centre at Lancaster University.
