Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood and James Bond are among the best-known Britons in Russia, according to a poll of Russian students conducted by the British Council. While royalty and politicians dominated the list, the fictional detective was fifth, the spy came in at 13th and Robin Hood at 12th. The poll was based on members of the British Council library in Nizhny Novgorod.
