First-year law students at Prague's Charles University are having to study in double shifts because nearly 170 additional students who failed the entrance exam were admitted after errors in the papers were discovered.
A further 98 students who had borderline results, comparable with students who had been admitted last year, were also given places swelling freshman ranks from the planned intake of 650 to nearly 1,000.
Admissions officers at the university have launched an inquiry into how nine mistakes in questions found their way into the exam papers.
