A European Science Foundation conference assessing the impact of genetically modified plants will investigate introgression from crops to wild plants and the consequences thereof in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 21 January 2003.
The conference will review current knowledge on gene flow and introgression, and discuss the research and monitoring information required to determine the consequences of introgression of novel genes on plant and crop ecosystems.
The event is jointly organised by the Institute for biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics, Aachen University of Technology and the European Science Foundation.
