The European Universities Association will host its 2006 autumn conference in Brno, Czech Republic between 19 and 21 October. The title will be: 'European Universities as Catalysts in Promoting Regional Innovation'. Representatives from universities, governments, the private sector and European Union institutions will speak about the role of universities today and how universities can promote regional innovation, from their different perspectives.
Presentations will outline case studies, showing how universities can develop strategies in their regions, and list instruments and actions which universities can use to contribute to regional development. Examples will be drawn from a variety of different European regions.
