The European Science Foundation is offering, in 2002, a limited number of awards for exploratory workshops of up to 25 participants with the aim of identifying emerging fields requiring immediate action at a European level. The aim of these workshops is to spearhead new areas of research.
Applications may concern any emerging or innovative field in biomedical and clinical research areas such as: new diagnostic and therapeutic trends using the human genome sequence; neuroscience; clinical trials (incl. pharmacogenomics and pharmacoepidemiology); cell and gene therapies; vaccines; computational science; public health. Applications from other fields of biomedical and clinical research are also very much encouraged.
Application guidelines available online.
