The Confederation of British Industry this week claimed that UK companies are benefitting from closer links with universities.
Director-general Howard Davies identified four areas where British companies have developed strong collaborative relationships with universities: course design, research, commercialisation and capital investment. He said: "Businesses are increasingly looking at a more substantial involvement with universities than just recruiting their graduates and using their research results.
